Lorraine Marie Photography is owned and operated by Gabriel and Lorraine Varela, a husband and wife team located in the Seattle area. Lorraine is a Certified Professional Photographer, and has been photographing children and families professionally since 2005. Gabriel handles the studio management details of running a boutique business, and assists at all of our photo sessions. It is a great privilege to not only have the opportunity of working together, but also of getting to know the incredible families who come through our doors…families just like yours.

Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Founded by the Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean War orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training. Today, Compassion helps more than 1.2 million children in 26 countries.


Compassion International has four core programs including Child Survival, Child Sponsorship, Leadership Development and Complementary Interventions. In addition to sponsorship opportunities, Compassion reaches out to meet critical needs of children enrolled in its programs through Complementary Interventions. Some of these interventions include Disaster Relief, Highly Vulnerable Children, Water of Life, Medical Assistance, and Income Generation and Infrastructure Development.
